How BrewMemo connects to your Nextcloud
BrewMemo uses the BrewMemo API to sync your notes directly to your own server. Notes are stored in a database on your Nextcloud instance - not on BrewMemo’s infrastructure, not in any third-party cloud.
Because BrewMemo uses the API rather than direct file sync, it’s faster and handles conflicts more cleanly than WebDAV-based approaches. Your notes live on your server and sync reliably across all your devices.
What you need
- A running Nextcloud instance - self-hosted or with a provider of your choice
- BrewMemo installed in your Nextcloud
- BrewMemo installed on iOS or Android
- Your Nextcloud server address and login credentials
Setup
- Install BrewMemo from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and navigate to Settings (cog icon) -> Account
- Tap ‘Connect Nextcloud’.
- Enter your Nextcloud server address.
- Sign in with your Nextcloud credentials.
- Start writing. Notes sync automatically.
That’s it. From this point on, every note syncs through your own server. Nothing leaves your Nextcloud infrastructure.
iCloud or local storage instead?
BrewMemo also supports iCloud sync and local-only storage. All three options keep your notes off third-party infrastructure you didn’t choose. Pick whichever fits your setup.
